This is a ring being sold on ebay. The seller is claiming its real and while a few nameless people were bashing me on this auction I had requested photos of the item to decide if it was real. I had told the seller it was a clear fake. Now you all take a look at the photos that the seller didnt want people to see that show that its a fake.
In this photo you can see that the details are not sharp and its clear its a copy not a real staff ring.
Hard to tell but it only has 10K on the inside. as you all know Jostens made the real rings. NO jostens logo and no jostens markings. Fist sign of a fake.
Here is the ALLEN that is on the ring that is for sale. THis side shows the details even in the name is not sharp. The wording and logos are clearly copies and worst yet ALL of the non players rings should have STAFF at the bottom. This seller claimed the ring was from a scout. Even with that this ring should have STAFF at the bottom. A real players ring would have the players number here insted. But Neither of them are here.
Another pic of the 10K markings. Notice how the 10K is crooked. A real jostens ring it would not be crooked. And of course it would have the jostens logo or the JOSTENS spelled out. Notice the place where the 10K is stamped if the ring was resized which is usally the excuse sellers give you for the reason why the markings are not there thats total nonsense. The 10K is on the side of the ring. You DO NOT resize the side of the ring. You resize only the bottom portion. So unless the stamping is on the palmside shank the thin part of the ring os which jostens rings are never done this way the stamping CAN NOT come off no matter how much you resize the ring.
Lettering is not bold and sharp
The best shot of the markings in this ring. ITs only 10K. ITs missing the Jostens logo or the word JOSTENS. NO amount of resizing would take it off. This is really what most people will ask for to determine if a ring is real or not. I have seen good fakes with this same marking but this ring isnt a good fake. Its easy to tell its a fake.
Notice the detailing on the side of the ring. ITs NOT sharp but extemely soft and a bit muddy.
Now here is a picture of a REAL 1991 Atlanta Braves Ring. You can compare the detailing of this ring to ebay auction # 190285925984 and see for yourself. Take a look at the sides and the missing "STAFF" look at the crispness. Most of all pay attention to the correct Jostens markings. These rings have them and are authentic the ring being sold on ebay 190285925984 is NOT.
Notice in this real 1991 Brave ring the sharp and crispness of the wording and detailing of the World Series Logo and comopare it to the ring on ebay.
Notice that all staff members and on players have STAFF on the sides of their rings. The ring in auction # 190285925984 does NOT.
